Floating above so white, illuminating,
While partly hiding beside the dark nimbus clouds
That seems ready to spit out its storm
The moon still shines heroically as it peeps
through the windows made out of clouds
Tall trees respond to the signal of the light
And cast its haunting shadows beneath
Branches shadows like arms ready to catch a fall
From an exhausted and tired
Or simply a clumsy tripp from a humorous rock or stump
The river fresh from rain rushes to its path
Inviting those who pass by
to join its happy trek to the seas
An invitation from its current that’s hard to resist
Thank to the big boulders that acts like angels below
Confirming in every step that you are just to cross
A shrub reaches out its hand
And the gush of inviting water slowly fades
Lightning draws a crooked line in the sky
And thunder shouts on all who walk to hurry.
The hills watch while the huts sleeps deep in its dreams
So eager for life, the corn continues to grow
The frog croaks and the beetles cheer,
The wind pushes with urgency on everything
While the feet
From a half note step to an eight note transition of steps
Then to a whole note and a complete stop and silence
Rey shouts a challenge to the password
Joey with a backpack, an aluminum canteen and an M16
slinged in her arms looks back relieved.
A welcoming comrade flashes his spot at us and says
Come in
Youv’e just arrived in time before it rains!
